Two parents, four kids, four chickens, two dogs, one cat, a tank full of fish and a snake. It’s possible the McCullah’s have more animals but that’s all I saw in the four hours I spent with them on a recent Sunday afternoon. Can you believe that I shot nearly 2800 photos of this family and somehow the snake and fish never made it in a single frame? What I did capture, though, was a normal Sunday afternoon for this active and entertaining family of six. It was filled with high energy, lots of outdoor and indoor playtime, cooking, eating, laughter and tears. I loved the challenge of keeping up with the kids, trying to capture meaningful photos with all four in the frame. It was not an easy task but it was lots of fun and I was sad when our time ended. I think what I love best about this session is that it truly captures normal for them. They dressed in everyday clothing and left their house as-is (no special preparations) for the photos. The kids played hard, they got dirty, and no one cared. It was fabulous! There was teasing and laughter, arguments and tears — and I captured it all! It was real life and it was a wonderful thing to photograph.  A big thanks to the McCulluah family for welcoming me into your home to photograph your family time! Enjoy the photos!
